Bidhannagar Mela of 2010 has started like every year. This Mela (Fair) of Bidhannagar is an annual affair like Book-Fair of Kolkata. This fair is a quite popular now. People of Saltlake and Kolkata eagerly wait for this fair to come every year. At the end of December this fair starts and goes for about two weeks. Stalls come from Bangladesh, Pakistan and from other states of India. All type of item from Furniture to Pickles are available in the fair.
This year the Mela Ground has been cemented and sitting arrangements have been provided so that elderly people can take rest for a while.Plenty of food stalls have come to the Mela this year. From Kabab, Fish fry to "Pithe-puli" and varieties of sweets are available.
